The people who make and market this claim that it will improve circulation, prevent kidney stones, slow aging and increase immunity. They even claim that it can help prevent heart attacks, strokes and cancer!
Coconut water does have a lot of electrolytes but basically there is no proof that it does anything other than hydrate. (hmmmm-sounds like expensive water!)
Please note that it does contain a lot of potassium (about the same as a banana or glass of orange juice).
Also be aware that it can interact with certain prescription blood pressure medications (lisinopril, maxzide, Diovan, Tekturna, etc) to cause unsafe elevations in potassium levels which could be fatal.
Our recommendations: Stick to water, but if you must use this, please notify us so we can determine whether it is safe for you to use.
