There has always been a controversy about the safety of stimulants and heart disease/abuse in adults.
About 60% of children will continue to have symptoms as adults.
New evidence suggest that these drugs are safe and do not cause heart disease. That said, if blood pressure is controlled and the patient does not have a history
cardiac arrhythmia or a recent cardiac event, then it is safe to use.
